Essay for Meditation Class (Sangha Award)

During the quarantine, me and my family had nothing to entertain ourselves with. Then, after a few weeks of staying in our homes, we were introduced to the weekly meditation class that the Pittsburgh Buddhist Center hosts. The experience was truly enlightening. I have two other siblings, one of them, with me, attends the weekly class. We have learned many different things, and have gained many good principals from these classes. I strongly encourage everyone to join at least one of these classes. Many of the lessons that are introduced will help you in the future, which include everything from managing emotions, to keeping organized, to different yoga poses. All of the people who run this activity are very nice and understanding, which includes the three Bhantes, and the yoga teacher. Overall, I firmly believe that you should join this class. If you do, then you will learn many good skills that will help you on your way to a good and virtuous life.

However, that is not all. You will learn how to meditate correctly. If you are having trouble, then you will be able to ask questions, and the three Bhantes will do everything in their power to assist you. Meditation is one of the three essential parts of the Buddhist practice, which would give you even more of a reason to try and perfect it.

From the experience of someone who has been to many of the classes, I truly believe that you should attend, and in doing so, you will be closer to achieving Nirvana in the future.
