Dear Readers,
Thank you for continuing to learn about the Noble Eightfold Path. If you want to see the old newsletters about the Noble Eightfold Path, scroll down to the "Old Newsletters" section and click on the links. This month, we will be learning about the fourth step on the Noble Eightfold Path, Right Action. But first, lets review.
Life has dukkha (suffering). The way to be free of suffering is to follow the Noble Eightfold Path by practicing eight points: Right View, Right Intention, Right Speech, Right Action, Right Livelihood, Right Effort, Right Mindfulness, and Right Concentration. Try to follow the Noble Eightfold Path in your life, and you will have complete happiness, free from suffering.
What is Right Action? Right Action is doing things that will not harm yourself or others.
1. Do not physically harm any living thing with your actions.
2. Do not steal from any living thing with your actions.
3. Do not emotionally or mentally harm any living thing with your actions.
There are good actions to do with Right Action:
1. Be helpful
2. Be generous
3. Be kind
Using Right Action helps everyone around you, including yourself. You will not harm anyone, you will only help them. By using Right Action, you are making life better for everyone around you. So, always try to do the good actions that are listed above, and always avoid doing any bad actions. Remember, if you accidentally do something wrong, it's okay. Just learn from your mistakes, and always try to do good.
Now we have completed learning about four steps on the Noble Eightfold Path: Right View, Right Intention, Right Speech and Right Action. We're halfway done! Remember to use what we learned in your life! Check back in September to learn about the next step, Right Livelihood.
Thank you for learning!
