I have read many books on the subject of Autism both personal accounts of being on the spectrum, as well as books by professionals also. Here is a selection of books I have read which I have found to by most informative and inspiring.

Donna Williams (Polly Samuel) - 1963 - 2017

Donna Williams was diagnosed with Autism in 1990, she was diagnosed at age two with “Childhood Psychosis”, as an adult she has written 10 books 4 of which are memoirs of her life her first book “Nobody Nowhere” was published in 1992 and was a New York Times Bestseller for over 17 weeks she has released 3 sequels so far, as well as textbooks, and poetry.

Temple Grandin

Temple Grandin was diagnosed with Autism at age three, and later was diagnosed with Asperger’s Syndrome in adulthood, she wrote her book “Emergence: Labelled Autistic” which was released in 1986, she written many books on the subject of Autism and cattle handling and animal welfare her passion.

Wenn B. Lawson

Wenn Lawson was misdiagnosed as “intellectually disabled” and with “Schizophrenia”. He was diagnosed in adulthood in 1994 with Asperger’s Syndrome, he wrote his autobiography in “Life behind Glass” in 2000, he has written many books on the subject and is public speaker and poet.
