Despite the apparent lack of activity, the 2014 survey season is well underway now and the first cycle of surveys is complete. I'm also working on a revised habitat background model for the 2014 survey to account for this winter's recent harvesting and clearance of the mixed coppice trees below the HT power lines. So, quite a lot to get on with.
If you missed my workshop on species distribution modelling at last year's National Bat Conference, then you will have a chance for an updated workshop on the Saturday only at this September's conference. I've updated the workshop to focus more on setting up the models and understanding the limitations imposed by sampling and choice of habitat variables. The material from last year is still available from the project working papers page and makes a good pre-read ahead this revised workshop.
