My name is Jon Whitehurst and I live on the edge of Parkhurst Forest. I also have the privilege to own and manage a small woodland adjacent to the forest, which has been restored from a thicket to a vibrant bat friendly woodland. I'm a Chartered Engineer by profession, working in the area of complex ship systems but have been fascinated by bats ever since my early research days in radar. Both my wife and I have been involved with bat emergence counts and other surveys, but this is the first project that we have planned and executed ourselves.
In fact, I love anything to do with engineering and science, and a great believer in the value of cross-discipline working...
I can be contacted via info(@)iowbats.org (removing "()" with "@" of course...).
