An intelligent student should be able to observe her own habits and figure out if the habits are desirable or undesirable.
In Chapter 13 of the Srimad Bhagavad Gita, Lord Sri Krishna teaches us twenty values, which are meant to help the intelligent student shape her own habits. These twenty values collectively are referred to as "Knowledge".
What is the benefit of following these twenty values? This question will be explored in the 7th grade Balavihar class as students will realize that by practicing these values they will conserve a lot of energy and they can apply it in proper channels. In other words, when these values are understood and assimilated, they become Keys to Success.
The overall curriculum is best understood by the phrase Jnanam Gamyam Jnanagamyam which explains the relationship between Knowledge and Success. A knowledgeable student will achieve Success and Knowledge leads to Success naturally. There is no other short cut to being successful; only Knowledge will bring success.
Please read the curriculum and schedule; make suggestions on the activities. A variety of teaching techniques such as story telling, drawing, writing, and participation in the Mission Activities will be used to communicate the importance of each of the twenty values.
We will be using several stories from a collection compiled by CHYK, Chennai. You can read these stories here.
