Wattle Circle 2011

Pioneer species grow fast on our fertile alluvial soil and by 2011 our plantings had formed a canopy suppressing much of the former kikuyu. The restrictive influence of both frost and sunburn had lessened and rainforest seedlings were appearing, especially under the wattles. It's noticeable that we get more seedlings under Acacia irrorata than under A. maidenii.
