Bryophytes

No of species recorded = 10

A good reference for Australian bryophytes is that of the Australian National Botanic Gardens.

Bryophytes are the mosses, liverworts and hornworts. We hope to be adding more species, as we identify them.

Hornwort

We have one hornwort in the deep gully at north end, growing over damp rocks and as yet not identified.

This Polytrichum species (commune?) is one of our prettiest mosses. It looks strikingly like a group of pine seedlings. But Dawsonia polytrichoides looks very similar until the spore caps are produced.
