Receiving an item

When receiving an item, make sure you sign for the item (if needed). Unpack the item from its packaging, and save the invoice and/or packing slip. Put the invoice in the black plastic tray on the shelf across from the big centrifuge. We need to save all invoices for Ann Powers for her to follow-up.

Log onto Quartzy and mark item as received. If appropriate, enter in the Lot #, CAS #, date received, where the item will be stored and add the item to the inventory. If its a consumable/chemical write your initials and date received on the item.

Dispose of all packing materials and boxes immediately. Cardboard boxes should be collapsed and disposed of in the large green bin outside, across from our-80C freezer. Styrofoam goes in the trash.

Note: If the item is temperature sensitive, please unpack the item immediately and put it in its appropriate place. Dry ice can be disposed of in the sink.
