 Adult Registration Steps

Complete steps #1–3 BEFORE submitting your application.

1. Safeguarding Youth Training

• Log in at my.scouting.org → Menu → My Dashboard → My Training.

2. California Mandated Reporter Training (AB506)

• Take the course at https://mandatedreporterca.com/training/volunteers → Select General Volunteers.

• Upload certificate at californiascouting.org/svmbc/.

• Cost: $9* for certificate

3. Live Scan Fingerprint Background Check

• Complete a Live Scan fingerprint background check. Request at https://svmbc.org/california-assembly-bill-506-and-youth-protection-training/

• Cost: Fingerprint: $20 to $40*, Background check: $17*

4. Scouting America Adult Application (CBC)

• Online: https://my.scouting.org/VES/OnlineReg/1.0.0/?tu=UF-MB-055taa0466 → Register → Consent to CBC → Pay fees.

• Paper: Fill out form https://filestore.scouting.org/filestore/pdf/524-501.pdf → Consent to CBC → Get Charter Organization Rep signature → Submit to Council with payment.

• Cost: $89*

5. Background Check Clearance

• National will notify you by email.
