Each year the scouts of Pack 462 transform empty plastic bottles into rockets with the help of a taped paper nose cone, a few fins, and a blast of water. Think water rockets are just child's play? Check out this background piece from NASA, which includes a comparison to real rockets.
Water rockets serves as Pack 462's main fall recruitment event for boys and girls in grades K-5 interested in joining Cub Scouts. Join us out on the launching field for hands on scouting fun on September 19 at Cherry Chase School. Bring an empty, plastic, 1.5-liter or 2-liter carbonated soda bottle (not a water bottle). Before or after your rocket launch, stop by the turn in application or make a payment for a whole year of scouting adventures with Pack 462.Â
Sign up for your launch window at the Parent Information and Pack Meeting, Friday, September 5, 7:00pm in the Cherry Chase Multi.
