Ready to register? Complete youth application online and pay applicable fees.*
Get Cub Scout uniform ("waist up") and Scout handbook for your rank (K=Lion, gr1=Tiger, 2=Wolf, 3=Bear, 4=Webelos, 5=Arrow of Light).
Purchase items from Scout Shop at 1900 The Alameda #100 in San Jose, or check our uniform exchange bin at a meeting or on Pack Slack.Accept emailed invitations to connect (we use Scoutbook and Slack to communicate and track activities)

National Registration and insurance (for 24-25): $96/youth, $76/adult
Scout Life subscription (optional): $15/person (payable with above registration)
Pack 462 annual fee: $105/youth - paid to the pack directly (above items are paid directly to Scouting America)

Cub Scouts succeeds with your support. Adults from each family volunteer their time to organize events, lead youth activities, manage paperwork, and ensure access to resources. We urge all Pack 462 parents to complete and maintain youth protection training (see step 1 below). We recommend one parent from each family with a scout in grades 1-5 register as an adult leader (steps 1-3) to ensure adequate protection and quality program options.
Finally, we require that at least one parent from each family volunteer their time in a leading or supporting role for one of the many events and activities our Pack conducts throughout the year.
Complete Youth Protection Training online (here). Scroll down a bit to the image "New to Scouting? Click here to take training." Create (or use) my.scouting.org login. Email the completion certificate to pack462sunnyvale@gmail.com.
Complete California's AB 506 compliance requirements: Mandated Reporter Training (online) and Live Scan fingerprint. See this page for instructions. Send training completion certificate to Committee Chair.
Complete an adult application (paper). It includes a section for personal references and consent to background check. You must fill it out completely and sign. Give signed papers to Chartered Organization Representative for review/approval. Adult registration fees are covered by the pack.
Pack 462 uses Scoutbook (login via my.scouting.org username/pass) for schedules and advancement tracking and Slack for communications.
