Bonus Playlist: Winter Holiday Music
Want to host a ballroom or social dance party with a winter holiday theme? Or perhaps you just want to get in the mood for the holiday season, or while getting ready to attend a winter holiday-themed party? Whatever your interest, here you will find a whole playlist of music that's perfect for ballroom, social, and partner dancing with themes appropriate for a variety of winter holidays. The list of songs in the playlist below is in alphabetical order to make it easier to find the songs. However, the embedded YouTube playlist is sorted to mix up the dance styles so that you can play it straight through and have the different dance styles spread out throughout the party if you wanted to just use this whole list for your event.
To watch a YouTube playlist, all you have to do is click on the "play" button or anywhere in the middle of the player window and the first song will start playing. It will automatically play the next song after the current song is over. If you would like to skip ahead to another song, look for the icon in the top-left of the window that looks like a list with horizontal bars. Click on that icon and the playlist should appear over the video window. In that playlist, you can scroll down to see the list of songs and then click on the video you want to see.
If you are not certain which dance you can do to any given song, click on the link above the embedded playlist to take you directly to that YouTube playlist on the YouTube website. There, you will find the list of songs in the left hand column and the list of suggested dances in the right hand column. You can also see the full list of songs and recommended dance styles in the chart below.
Please support the artists and purchase each song legitimately if you plan to play them at your event, especially if you are charging entry to your event.
* Songs with an asterisk in front are not included in the YouTube playlist because I could not find it on YouTube at the time of making the playlist. You will need to find the song on Amazon or iTunes or another vendor to purchase that song to play.
! Songs with an exclamation point in front are songs that have tempo changes or are otherwise challenging to partner-dance to (even with the suggested dance style) and you may wish to skip these songs if you want to use this list for a ballroom or partner dance party, but they make great winter holiday party music if their danceability is not important.
