Swing Break is ending! That's right, after more than a year of dancing every single Tuesday night at Sun On The Beach in Old Town on HWY 192 in Kissimmee, we're rolling up the dance floor due to low attendance. Tuesday, December 17th is our Christmas dance with more than 5 hours of danceable holiday music, and this will be our last dance!
Thank you to all of our regulars who supported us every week, and to our one-time visitors who made each week that you were there special. And thank you to Sun On The Beach for allowing us the use of your dance floor and sound system every week! We are keeping an open relationship with Sun On The Beach so that we can hopefully use their space again in the future for special one-time events. So keep an eye on our Facebook Group and Facebook Page for any special engagements in the future!
Swing Break played a mix of music that was primarily oldies, motown, jump blues (swing jazz), and classic rock & roll from the 1940s - 1960s mostly suitable for swing dancing. We also played a mix of modern music with a retro, rock & roll feel as well as just some straight up modern popular music. We had a selection of music for other styles of dance, including ballroom and Latin that we could play upon request or if we noticed dancers of other styles out on the floor.
We even had line dances! We usually played at least 2 line dances a night, often several line dances scattered throughout the evening to encourage our non-partner-dancing guests to join us on the floor. And there were 2 charleston / lindy line dances!
Thank you all for your cooperation and your participation. It's been a fun year!
