Sorsha is Astrid's lastborn puppy, from her litter with Z. She's got a solid dose of her mother's "honey badger" along with her father's sweet affectionate nature. Sorsha loves to work and learn! She aced her herding instinct test and completed her HT title at the 2020 (deferred) National Specialty, then followed it up with her PT title at the 2021 National Specialty. I was thrilled to show Sorsha to breeder judges at the 2021 National Specialty and come home with Best Opposite Sex in Puppy Sweepstakes and 4th place in Bred-by Bitches. Sorsha finished her puppy career going Best Puppy in Sweepstakes at the NCBCF specialty under breeder-judge Jane Cooper.
In 2022 we gave FASTCAT a try and she ended 2022 ranked the #1 FASTCAT beardie. Sorsha particularly excels in scent sports and loves to hunt down odor! She collected both Novice High in Trial and Advanced High in Trial awards in AKC scentwork events. Sorsha finished her AKC championship with back to back majors and will be shown in conformation occasionally when we aren't busy with performance sports.
In early 2024, we attended an IABCA show where Sorsha won several Best in Show and Best Bred by Exhibitor in Show and then was selected by the panel of judges as the Grand Sieger winner ("Best of the Best") - the best dog of the weekend shows. Sorsha finished 2024 going Best in Show at the Southwest Kennel Club's December UKC show.
Sorsha has recently taken her run speed into a new sport - canicross - and rapidly accumulated her novice canicross dog title and three lifetime mileage titles. She finished her bronze canicross championship in April 2025.
"Very feminine with nice bone. Good angles, front and rear. Moved nicely and lightly from the side with a clean come and go. Her tail was a bit high at times but it never seemed to spoil her outline. This was my enthusiastic choice for Best Opposite Sex in Sweepstakes." -- Breeder-judge Lesley Woodcock, 2021 BCCA National Specialty
"17 month old slate bitch with a pretty head and expression, level topline and a nice shape on the stand, moved well coming and going." -- Breeder-judge Bea Sawka, 2021 BCCA National Specialty
"She had a nice layback shoulder and nice length of back. She was clean on her down and back. She is in great shape and showed it when she moved." - Breeder-judge Sharon Ipser, 2023 BCCSC Specialty
"3 year old slate of excellent type. A well balanced bitch with typical head and expression with good eye colour. She has the correct chest shape and is well ribbed back. She moved clean coming and going with an easy gait around the ring, holding her topline. Pleased to award her reserve winners." - Breeder-judge Pam Douglas, 2023 NCBCF Specialty
