Stanley came to us from our good friend Beth Tilson at Highlander Bearded Collies (co-bred by Pat Colombo).  I had loved Stanley's mother Maude (Max's half sister) and was so excited at the chance to get a boy from her first litter with Dazs.

Stanley did not disappoint, as he quickly showed an affinity for herding, agility and obedience.  At his first National Specialty in 2008, he went BOS in Sweepstakes to his sister Beatrix and he's followed that up with a number of nice AOM wins at regional specialties.  In 2014 in his first outing as a veteran, he went BOS Vet in Sweeps and BOS in Breed at the RMBCC show.  In fall 2014, Stanley was Best Veteran in Breed at the Continental Divide Herding Association show and got a Herding Group 4 at the High Plains Kennel Club show!  In 2015, he again went BOS Vet in Sweeps at the RMBCC show and placed in some lovely veterans classes at the 2015 National!

Stanley retired from the agility ring in early 2015 and made his debut in the obedience ring as well as re-starting herding!  He finished his Beginner Novice title in 3 days of showing.  His most favorite activity was joining me running, hiking and climbing some of Colorado's highest mountains!

Stanley has also made us proud as a stud dog.  In a very limited number of breedings, his kids have some lovely wins already and are proving themselves in the agility, herding and obedience rings as well.

Stanley passed at the grand age of 16 years, 3 months, 24 days. We will miss him so very much.

"...this 19+ month old boy of correct size and lovely outline is already a finished Champion. Nice head with good dark pigmentation. Angles well balanced and not exaggerated. Appealing flow of neck into firm, strong topline and well-rounded croup. Very sound to go over with correct depth, shape and length of rib. Gaited freely with balanced movement. I was pleased to award him Best of Opposite Sex in Sweeps." -- Breeder-judge Tom Dixon, 2008 BCCA National Specialty

"Nice masculine boy. Good side gait from nice angulation but worked slightly off his front. Good topline for his age. Could have slightly more forechest." -- Breeder-judge Lesley Woodcock, 2021 BCCA National Specialty
