FEBRUARY NEWSLETTER

February is known as the month of giving when it comes to our Disc Golf community. This year the clubs really raised the bar. Tulsa's Ice Bowl was held on February 5th and was hosted for the 14 time by the infamous Wayne Forest. This year came with additional challenges due to old man winter. Players had to use a secondary entrance but thanks to hard work by the park crew it worked out great. There was a record 215 participants (194 playing), raising $5,643.00 and 321 pounds of food. That is an amazing accomplishment and all involved should be proud. The proceeds went to the Community Food Bank of Eastern Oklahoma.

The second Ice Bowl was presented by the Oklahoma City Disc Golf Association. The TD was Cameron Kasperit. There were 131 players that raised $551.00 and 220 pounds of food for the Edmond Mobile Wheels.

Sooner Disc Golf held their event on February 12th. I will post results as soon as I can.

In spite of the recent epic snow storms, a lot of players are still out on the courses. Get out there yourself and keep your game in shape, spring is almost here!!

This is going to be a great year for Disc Golfers in Oklahoma..

If you have not renewed for 2011 now is a great time. If you are a member of an affiliate club, such as the TDSA, you can save $5.00. I renewed online and it was a breeze.

Stay posted for more updates. I will write a newsletter each month with recaps and announcements.

Thanks for checking in and please let me know if there is anything I can do to help.
