Ethical Issues

Basic understanding of the ethical and legal issues involved in providing and withdrawing enteral and parenteral nutrition support for special patient populations (i.e terminally ill patients, advanced dementia, patients unable to give consent or who refuse nutritional therapy) is important for practicing gastroenterologists who provide nutritional support.
