Two weak cantrips (see Cantrips: General) are widely used by Cabbalists: Trigger/Stop and More/Less.
Cabbalism is the study and practice of rune lore. Magic spells, when cast, may require verbal, somatic, and material components. The verbal component defines the spell and triggers the magic required to cast it, as expressed in the Mage Tongue. Spells and other magic effects can also be defined graphically in the form of runes. Runes, property bound and energized at trigger points are stable. The magic embedded in the rune is not triggered (cast) unless certain criteria (written as part of the rune) are met. This is how a magic trap is triggered.
Runes can be written without a trigger condition. These runes are static and can't be triggered by situation conditions. They can, however, be triggered using the Trigger cantrip. Certain runes will operate continuously once triggered. The inverse of Trigger can be cast to Stop the operation of a rune.
Continuously operating runes may have controls associated with them to vary intensity, speed, etc. of the rune. These characteristics may be controlled externally using a More/Less cantrip. More increases a characteristic by a discrete amount. To increase it further, another cantrip is used, subject to maximum/minimum limits. Multiple uses of More/Less are governed the same restrictions established for all cantrips. See Cantrips: General.
