Paint Touchup

Messed up the engine compartment trying to yank the transmission out without disconnecting all the ('hidden") bolts first.

Got this can of paint at the auto parts store...took me 5 stores before i found it! For Paint Code AH3, Cherry Red Metallic it's Dupli-Color BNS0570.

Yup, LOOKS like it should be a "perfect match".

Masked the area off..

...and primered 'er up!

This doesn't look right.

My wife convinced me that the underhood color is different from the exterior color (which matches the can). After successive "feathering" coats, it looks a little better, right?

Might as well paint these motor pount pads while we're at it. Cleaned 'em, Scotch Brite, Prep All, and stuffed bits of shop towels in the threaded holes to keep the paint out!
