04/07/13 - Went to Honey Creek, took the carb intake boot clamp from the RM250, put it on the quad and it worked
04/08/13 - Bought the front bumper ($35) and oil cooler guard ($9.99) off ebay

04/10/13 - Oil cooler grill came today
04/16/13 - Front bumper came today
04/18/13 - Rest of parts (petcock, solenoid cover, misc bolts) came today
05/27/13 - Installed the solenoid cover and petcock...it tried to run, but kept dying out...daddy helped by creating vacuum in the fuel pump...is the carb/engine not creating enough vacuum? weak plug? the start button wasn't working, either...i suspect the neutral start relay
06/01/13 - Bo discovered a wire was broken...turns out it's the main power feed!
06/06/13 - Ordered the pos cable, boot, battery vent tube and gas cap vent tube
06/09/13 - Investigated the wiring problem...compared it to the 96 and 97...appears slightly different...tried to remove the terminal from the connector, but couldn't figure it out...found a store online that sells the connector, ordered 4
06/12/13 - The "micro relay" connectors came!
04/13/14 - Crimped the "red" wires and installed them in the connector; wouldn't start...bad battery?
04/14/14 - (Worked on studying the wiring diagram at work); relayed the info to Bo, he checked continuity of the repair (to the battery terminal) and it showed good; he is still charging the battery, he said it's at zero, AND there is no water in the battery!
06/15/14 - bought Autocraft battery from Advance
01/20/15 - online work; researching wiring diagram; relaying info to bo; think this is when i realized that splice job wasn't sufficient
02/12/15 - Ordered "4 Way 2.8mm Mini Connector Kit GREEN Motorbike Kawasaki Motorcycle Pin Connector" off ebay
02/13/15 - Ordered "Quick Change Ratcheting Crimper Kit MTNC48" off ebay; bo did wire nut tests; i think this revealed the problem with that splice/crimp
02/17/15 - crimper arrived
07/12/15 - Crimped the "power" wires using the crimper tool...neutral light worked, but battery was too weak to crank it?
07/14/15 - ordered "another" (same model no.) Autocraft battery from Advance
09/17/15 - the fuse holder came, but I ordered the wrong (WHITE) one...placed the order for the black one...
09/24/15 - the CORRECT fuse holder (black) came
09/28/15 - the fuel pump (and hardware) came
10/01/15 - installed the new fuel pump (and hardware), starter solenoid and relay holder...bo had to pour gas in the air filter to get it started...then we rode it...master cylinder is seized?
10/05/15 - ordered a small engine tachometer off ebay
10/26/15 - removed and inspected the master cylinder piston; ordered a new one, and miscellaneous m/c hardware and the brake cable clevis pin and stuff
01/17/16 - removed the rubber plug from the m/c, did a quick clean of the m/c, researched sight glass replacement, ordered a used m/c off ebay
01/22/16 - the ebay master cylinder just came; looks to be pretty good, better than what was on there! tested the lever/piston, compresses and returns like normal
02/21/16 - cleaned the ebay master cylinder; the diaphragm that goes in the bottom was swollen? or too big? (wouldn't fit); so cleaned and reused the old one
03/12/16 - took forever to remove the stuck throttle housing screw, but finally got it out, although, i think i drilled some into the housing? the new screw kinda went in weird/tightened funny, too
04/09/16 - installed the m/c, but that was about it; reused the old sealing washers (keep an eye out); looks like i never ordered new ones; ran out of time/daylight to bleed the brakes
07/09/16 - moved it into the basement; took the front wheels off to assess the brake bleeding; didn't have my book to guide me, so no work
07/31/16 - attempted to bleed the brakes; got 1/4" ID line from Honey Creek ACE (.29/foot, 2ft = .62); RF one wouldn't bleed, no fluid in line, only leaked from bleed screw; moved to LF; DIRTY fluid (water? rust?) from line, and bubbles, but hand lever never firmed up and brakes felt like they never applied; quit/gave up; bad wheel cylinders? bad master cylinder?
09/04/16 - tried to do the brakes, had the wrong pin; did attach the cable and adjusted enough so the pedal would operate; loaded it on the s10 and brought to midtown
10/30/16 - jacked up the LF and removed the LF wheel; went to HC and got the slide hammer kit
10/31/16 - ordered breaker bar from amazon ($16.95); ordered 30mm socket from amazon ($9.81)
11/12/16 - mityvac container wouldn't hold pressure; ordered a "better" one off amazon ($13.54)
11/27/16 - got a chain (1') at ace, it fits over the M10x1.25 studs, but is too small for the puller, AND the puller adapter! so gotta get a bigger chain!; got the bigger chain
11/28/16 - pulled the hub off (puller worked); and yep, i think i've officially lost that wheel nut washer, dang!
02/01/17 - bought brake fluid and shop towels from autozone; have the LH brake parts soaking in brake fluid
02/12/17 - put the brake hardware on
02/13/17 - drove the LH hub on as much as i could using the rubber mallet; need that smaller two-headed rubber/plastic mallet
02/17/17 - got the two-headed mallet and cotter pins from harbor freight, "at lunch"; came home and seated the hub, installed the dust ring, drum, and hardware, didn't torque the axle nut yet
02/20/17 - mama came over to watch t, so i was able to make good progress! got the RH front disassembled, clean AND reassembled! put the wheels back on (not tightened), torqued the axle nuts, will hafta cut the HF cotter pins down to match; but i 'forgot' to bleed the brakes, so i'll need to jack it back up, take the wheels off, then do that; decided to use the '250' plastic, and put the blue plastic on the 250
02/26/17 - filed the cotter pins and installed them and the covers
03/02/17 - got 4' of 3/16" ID tubing from ACE; tight fit at first, but got it on; bled brakes, they work and release, at least with hand spinning/holding drum pressure
03/04/17 - ordered the steering shaft ($26.99) off ebay
03/09/17 - the steering shaft came
07/06/17 - the new solenoid came; installed it; works from the switch now! still won't run; it sputtered BRIEFLY with fuel diredtly on the air filter; then wouldn't restart
07/13/18 - ordered and picked up new battery from advance
07/14/18 - turned over, but no running...wasn't getting fuel
07/15/18 - had it running for awhile (primed the carb by sucking on the vacuum tube); smoked alot; puttered out on me
07/17/18 - did more tracking of the oil light wires; the diode is there!
07/18/18 - after reading a webpage, ordered the non-vacuum petcock (but hopefully it's the new looking style, like the picture)
10/14/20 - finished the fuel pump vacuum hose adaptation; first crank in awhile, did as expected, smoked at startup, ran for awhile, didn't wanna restart; compression was high before and after (180s); spark seemed fine when hot, too; suspect worn/leaking valve seals
10/15/20 - ordered spark plug (7912/d7ea) from autozone, will pick it up eventually! tried to crank it, it turned over, but i had the choke on (up)!; realized that, pushed choke down/off? but starter wouldn't engage, only solenoid clicking, so ordered a new cheapo-again solenoid
10/17/20 - picked up the spark plug(yep, it was the right one!), that is all
12/07/20 - removed the carburetor
12/08/20 - ordered a mityvac (vac/pressure) since i can't find the one i already have!!!
