This year we hold our X Silent Auction - and it will again be exclusively online! See the items donated so far!

This Year's Auction shall be open

from 0001 hrs, x February 20xx until 2000 hrs MT, 5 February 20xx.

Purpose: The Auction's purpose is to generate funds to be administered and expended at the discretion of the NGMB Executive Committee. Possible uses of the proceeds include awards, as funds for invited speaker expenses, or for the general functioning of the NGMB.

Items to be auctioned: The items offered for auction are donated by the membership, attendees, or any other interested parties. Items can be of any value, handmade or purchased. Donating is completely voluntary and not meant to be a requisite of attending any of the various meeting functions, nor bidding.

Participation: The auction is open to everyone associated with the meeting, their guests, or the public. Participation is 100% voluntary. Everyone is eligible to bid on an item even if they did not donate an item. You may participate in auction bidding though not present at the meeting as all of the bidding will be done online. (Click here for suggestions to optimize your success)

You must register your Item(s) and submit one or two images of each. Deadline for receipt of your image(s) will be midnight (PST) the Friday before the meeting date: this year 1 February 2018. To facilitate off-site participation all bidding will be through the green link to the left. If you are attending the meeting you may bring your item(s) with you in hopes of a direct hand off to the winning bidder(s), but realize you may have to mail your item(s) to remote winner(s).

To bid you must register. Onsite meeting attendees will automatically be registered and receive their bidding # on their Attendee Badge at registration check in. Others wish to participate will have to register on line. With registration you must provide the Secretary with the email you will use for all communication concerning the Auction. It is best that registration occur well before the meeting date, and if you are not attending you will receive in reply a bidder’s number (see Rules below) and instructions on how the bidding will proceed.

For those attending the Social and having brought their Auction Items they can be displayed during the Social but NO BIDDING will occur on sheets at the Social. All bidding will be online!! (Bring your laptop, etc. to the Social.)

At the close of bidding Contributors will be provided with the name(s) and address(s) or the person(s) winning their item(s). They will be responsible for prompt shipment of the item(s) to the winner(s). The successful bidder(s) will also receive contact information for the item(s) contributor(s).

Silent Auction General Rules:

  1. Prior to the auction, a bidder’s number will be assigned to anyone wishing to participate. This number will be used in the bidding for items so nobody will know who is bidding or who a person is bidding against.

  2. Auction items will have an online bid form where bids can be placed. The form will be used to record accept bids. The current bid status of all items will be displayed with an online auction ledger.

  3. Bidding will close at the time posted (above) and the designated auction clerk will announce the successful winners. The winners will pay the clerk following the auction.

  4. Any items not bid on will be returned to the person donating the item. It can be an option that an item could be used as a door prize or a gift to meeting presenters as the donor wishes.
