Silent Auction Bidding Recommendations
Recommended Bidding Frenzy Procedure
Prerequisite: You have a Bidder Identification Number, required for placing a bid (E.g. Camnula Scudder's number is 0).
1) Open the Items Showcase (click on "See the Items donated so far!" link (top right of Silent Auction page).
2) Open the bidding page or the Silent Auction Bidding page ("Place a Bid" green button). This page displays a spreadsheet of all the available items (including Item # and Title, and current high bid and the Bidders Identification Number). You will need to continually refresh this page to see the status of each item's current highest bid - IT DOES NOT REFRESH AUTOMATICALLY.
3) Review all the Items in the Showcase and decide which you wish to bid on.
4) From the Silent Auction Bidding page open a bidding form for each of these items so you can quickly top the current highest bid on each of those items. So in your browser you should have a tab for the Silent Auction page, one for the Showcase page, another for the Silent Auction Bidding page (listing current status of all items), and then 'n' number of tabs for the items you are tracking (the bid placement pages).
These are the new wrinkles for this year's Auction:
Bidding amounts are not placed by those bidding but each bid increases the current high bid by a pre-defined increment set by the donor.
You can only open each items bidding form by a link in the Silent Auction Bidding page (links to bid are not supported in the Showcase as before).
You must refresh the Silent Auction Bidding page to stay current on the items you are tracking, i.e. each time you want to check the for the highest bid(s) on your target item(s). The page does not update automatically.
