Summary of the Regulation

Sculpture Section

    • To the Symposium will be invited 5 sculptors, two Italian and three foreign who will be selected from those who apply for participation.

    • Every invited artist, must send in March 2013, by e-mail (in JPG format) a design (on letter format) of the work that will create on June, with a brief explanation of its meaning. In addition every artist must send together one picture of his must important work to be published in the catalog of Symposium, with a brief explanation of his own artistic research.

    • Every invited artist, must create in June a sculpture (high-relief) on the face of one or maximum two of the boulders of travertine to his choice, that are located along the pier of San Benedetto del Tronto (see pictures on the section of the website dedicated to Scultura Viva or to Artworks on the MAM's page).

    • The invited artists will enjoy pre-paid food and lodgings (in a single or double room) during the Symposium and will be hosted by the City Hall of San Benedetto del Tronto in a hotel close to the Symposium's site.

    • Every foreign sculptor, at the end of work, will have a prize of participation of net 1.000 euros.

    • Every artist must to provide for the expenses of his journey which will not be refunded.

    • Every invited artist will have to bring along at least two small sculptures (enough about 15”) to be exhibited for the duration of the Symposium in a municipal art gallery.

    • Every invited artist will have to have his or her own insurance policy for any kind of injury deriving from their work.

    • The organization of Symposium, will make available compressed air and electricity only. Every Artist therefore will have to provide tools and whatever is necessary to the realization of the work.

Painting Section

    • To the Symposium will be invited 5 wall painters, two Italian and three foreign who will be selected from those who apply for participation.

    • Every invited artist, must send in March 2013, by e-mail (in JPG format) a design (on letter format) of the mural which he will create on June, with a brief explanation of its meaning. In addition every artist must send together one picture of his must important work to be published in the catalog of Symposium, with a brief explanation of his own artistic research.

    • Every invited artist, must create a mural of 12 square meters on the face of three blocks of concrete located along the pier of San Benedetto del Tronto (see pictures on the section of the website dedicated to Scultura Viva or to Artworks on the MAM's page). Every block has a dimension of 2 meter x 2 meter.

    • The invited artists will enjoy pre-paid food and lodgings (in a single or double room) during the Symposium and will be hosted by the City Hall of San Benedetto del Tronto in a hotel close to the Symposium's site.

    • Every foreign artist, at the end of work, will have a prize of participation of net 900 euros.

    • Every artist must to provide for the expenses of his journey which will not be refunded.

    • Every invited artist will have to bring along with him at least three framed paintings (on paper or canvas) to be exhibited in the Palazzina Azzurra Art Gallery of San Benedetto del Tronto for the duration of the Symposium.

    • Every invited artist will have to have his or her own insurance policy for any kind of injury deriving from their work.

    • The organization of Symposium, will make available only the acrylic paints necessary to realize the work (maximum 6 paint cans of 1 Kg. or, as an alternative, 12 spry cans). Every Artist therefore will have to provide whatever is necessary to the realization of the work, as brushes and other.
