Now you get to write some of your own poetry.
The directions for this part are very simple. Write TWO style poems. You can write about anything you want (as long as it is appropriate for school of course). It can be serious, silly, sad, funny, romantic, short, long...anything you want. The only rule is that I want you to choose two different styles that you just learned about. You can not choose free verse as one of your styles, we will be doing this later.
Try hard to make sure that your audience will be able to "hear your voice" through your poetry. What do I mean? I mean that a poem with voice tells the reader who the writer is. Think about some of the poems you have heard and read - could you tell if the poet was angry, sad, happy, in love, excited etc...? Could you tell if they had a good sense of humor, were shy, loved sports etc...? This is what I want you to try to do, let your audience get to know you through your style poems.
Each poem is worth 10 points.
