Now that you have all had conferences it is time to work on your final project.
You will be taking TWO of the poems you wrote, editing them, revising them, and making final drafts/presentations. One of these poems MUST be the poem you wrote about a change you would like to see in the world. You are free to choose whatever one of your poems you like for your second poem.
1. First decide which poem you will use in addition to your change poem.
2. Now it is time to work on editing. Use the conference sheet to see what suggestions your group/partner and I made about your poems. You do NOT have to change anything if you do not want to. If someone suggested a different word in a line of your poem, but you like the word that you chose better, that is ok. All I want you to do is to think about the suggestions that were given to you and make a final draft of your two poems.
3. Now that you have created final drafts of two poems, you are going to make them into presentations. You have some choices about how you would like to present you poems. One poem MUST be presented with one of the technology tools on the following page. You may present both of your poems with a technology tool, or you may choose to present your second poem in a more traditional way (such as on a poster board, with artwork, or on nice paper in a frame).
4. Finally, I want you to research an organization that is related to the subject of your change poem. If you have trouble with this see me for help. Once you have found an organization that follows the same cause that you have chosen, write down the name of it and give it to me. AFTER your final presentations I will e mail your change poem to that organization so others can hear your voice.
Each of your final presentations is worth 15 points.
The rubric for the presentations is attached below.
