Monday 10-3-2011:  Introduction to Chapter 19 Families of the Periodic Table.

                                      Assignment:   Students created a fold able outlining the following:

1.Family name  2.  Number of valence electrons,  3.  List of elements in each family,  4.  What type of bond do they form? 5. Characteristics (i.e. luster, shiny etc.)  6.  Is is a metal or nonmetal  7.  State of matter (i.e. solid, liquid or gas)

Tuesday  10-4-11:  Students will randomly  pick element project.  ALL projects are due on Tuesday, October 18, 2011 at the time your class is scheduled. Students have 2 weeks to complete this assignment.  NO EXCUSES and late work NOT  will be accepted!  Please read the syllabus in regard to this policy .The earlier you begin your assignment the earlier you can turn it in. This project is worth 200 pts and will count as a test grade.

Assignment:  Colors of the Periodic Table or Element Classes.  Add the following colors:

1)  Color group 13- Brown  2)  Color group 14- pink    3)  Color group 15- black
