Finally, while working as intern at Microsoft research lab (CMIC), I managed to submit my 1st paper in IEEE International Conference in Image processing, 2011, under supervision of Dr Motaz El Saban.

The paper title is "Higher Order Potentials using Superpixel Neighborhood for semantic Image segmentation".

The paper introduce 3 critical points:

1- For an energy function minimized over CRF: E(x) = Sum of potentials + Sum of pairwise + Sum of segments potential. Although this function encourage pixels within same segment to have same class, it suffers from relating segments together. In our method, we relate neighbor segments in energy function so that we utilize important information

2- We used pixel unary and segment unary that is practical to compute (in terms time & memory) and achieves state-of-the-art results. Recent approaches exhaust significant of time & memory to calculate such unaries!
