כיצד אנשים התנהלו בתוך העיר? האם היו מגבלות תנועה ומיקום, למי היה מותר להיות איפה? כיצד אנשים תפסו את העיר שלהם (לעומת העיר המודרנית, לעומת תקופות אחרות?) איך נוכל לשחזר את חווית המשתמש של האדם העתיק בעיר? האם יש שינויים במשך הזמן באופן בו תופסים ומתנהגים בעיר? מה המעמדות בתוך העיר וסוגי המבנים השונים שבהם הם השתמשו? כיצד אישים פוליטיים עיצבו את העיר בהתאם לצרכיהם והמסר הפולטי שרצו להעביר?
