This tool, at https://mblida.pythonanywhere.com/, maps the similarity of passages in ancient Hebrew and Greek texts, in order to assist in finding parallels and other cases of text reuse in these corpora.
Instructions:
1. Enter two search terms (* wildcard supported at the end and beginning of words) and a proximity window. The analysis finds passages (~100 words) where both terms appear in proximity. It then calculates similarity between these passages, based on shared words and bigrams.
2. Alternatively, use the author-title filter to choose a small number of texts. This will limit the number of passages for analysis and allow you to enter only one search term, or even none in case of two or three short texts. You will then get the relevant passages from these texts only.
3. Use the min pair score filter (between 0 and 1) to limit the number of passages to those with higher similarity. ~0.1 is a good starting point. 3. Click network links to view the relevant passages for the selected pair in the table, or a node to view all the passages connected to this text. Use the sidebar filters to narrow down the visualization.
