No known grave. Commemorated on ARRAS MEMORIAL, Pas de Calais, France. Bay 9.

Born 1877

Mother  unmarried Mary Wilkinson b.1841 in Little Strickland. She was the daughter of Mary and Thomas Wilkinson a farmer of 450 acres in 1851 census.

By 1861 her mother had died and Mary aged 20 was Housekeeper to her father who now farmed 150 acres in Little Strickland

In 1871 Mary is still at Strickland Lodge  Little Strickland ,farmer's daughter unmarried- (there is a child aged 2-Georgiana described as granddaughter of Thomas who may belong to Mary not found in 1881 but in 1891 she is servant to Joseph Knight Vicar of Morland at  The Vicarage Bellvue)

Tom is living in a Residence for 231 employees of Messrs Cook, Son and Co.16-18 Stamford Street Saint Saviours Southwark He is 24 born in Morland Westmoreland and described as a Manchester Warehouseman(Cotton  goods were  known as Manchester goods)

1911 census Tom still single  aged 33 is a lodger in the Watson household at 52 Warner Road Camberwell S.E. A warehouseman

His service records do not seem to have survived so no details of his enlistment

3rd May 1917 Killed in action whilst serving with the 2nd City of London Battalion(Royal Fusiliers) London Regiment. Service No. 232783 Probably during the following offensive-on May3, twin attacks were launched along the Scarpe River in the centre and Bullecourt in the South. While both made small gains, losses led to the cancellation of both assaults on May 4th and7th respectively(Military History.about.com)

Tom is commemorated by the CWGC at the Arras Memorial, Pas de Calais, France.
