Prom Images
There are many Eproms and Other memory devices to be found in a monarch.
These Include
Address decode eproms eg MCPUMM N2.0
On line Main cabinet software (MMEQ) eg N2.1
Off line main cabinet software (MOFF) N2.0
16k Customer / Configuration data base on EEprom on daughter card
4k customer / configuration on earlier systems on eprom daughter card (AND RAC)
Exchange / trunk card software eg M4 XCH 1.10
I've tried to capture some of the Eprom images here here before there bits discharge forever, like some of my customer data bases have.
4k Configuration Database Eprom
16k Configuration Data Base ASU 2A1/SA21023 eeprom version
Both the monarch on line and off line software read the customer database, to find out things like.
1) What sort of card is in what slot
2) What the numbering scheme is
3) What restrictions are on trunks and Extensions
4) Where the console is plugged in.
Not all databases are compatible with all software versions.
The 1 Meg byte memory card has a daughter board with 2 EEPROMS on it, they are made by SEEQ part number PQ28C64. The IC on the right of the picture is IC50, the one on the left is IC49
When the configuration on the 1 Meg memory card cannot be read for some reason, eg the battery has gone flat, a VCST needs to be done the reads the eeprom into the ram on the main board.
The data on the eeporms does not last forever, the data sheet says 10 years ..
So I would advise you make sure you do a save from ram to eeprom at least every 10 years
16k Customer Data Base ASU 2A1/SA20476 eprom version
Off line Main Cabinet software (MOFF)
Stored on 2 eproms in on the 8088 CPU card IC34 and IC35
devices include Texas Instruments TMS 2764-25JL, MBM2764-25
On line main Cabinet software (MMEQ)
Stored on 8 Eproms on the 1 Meg memory card
The eproms are 27c512s 64k x 8 bit eprom and there are 8 of them installed on 1 meg memory card
