Treasure Hunts or Scavenger Hunts:

Searching for Treasure on the Internet!

Internet scavenger hunts are a way for students to practice problem solving,

improve their reading and comprehension skills, and learn how to search the Internet.

What is a Treasure or scavenger Hunt?                                

Treasure or Scavenger Hunts are a new development where students follow clues and visit different websites  to solve short questions or even riddles.

 

How to create your Treasure Hunt?             

Choose a topic of interest for your students. Think of 4 or   5 short questions about it.

Create a hyperlink in each question to the website where your students can find the   answer.

The last question must be inferred from the information read.                                  

Why should you use treasure hunts in the classroom?

First of all, treasure hunts are highly motivating for students. secondly, they foster autonomous learning and the use of new technologies.

Finally, students do scanning reading on authentic materials.
