IMPORTANT: There are some adjectives ending in -ed which are pronounced /id/
Do not confuse them with irregular verbs
aged /id/ beloved /id/ blessed /id/
cursed /id/ dogged /id/ learned /id/ naked /id/
ragged /id/ sacred /id/ wicked /id/ wretched /id/
USES
1. Completed Action in the Past
Use the Simple Past to express the idea that an action started and finished at a specific time in the past.
Examples:
I saw a movie yesterday. Click here to practise irregular verbs
I didn't see a play yesterday.
Last year, I travelled to Japan.
Last year, I didn't travel to Korea.
Did you have dinner last night?
She washed her car.
He didn't wash his car.
Key words: last, ago, yesterday, in the past
PAST SIMPLE+ AGO
"Ago" means "hace" in spanish.
The question is : How long ago + past simple?
How long ago did you go to the cinema? ¿Cuánto tiempo hace que fuistes al cine?
The answer is:I went to the cinema 2 weeks ago. Fui al cine hace 2 semanas.
English: point in time + ago
Spanish: Hace + momento en el tiempo
