Education & Activity

Four graduate students (Bin Cao,  Haiyan Wu,  Yu Han and Liu Fan) were funded by this project. All students were trained in PIs labs and assisted PIs to conduct research work in Year 3.

One high school teacher from Early College Academy did a 10-week summer project in Cheng lab in summer 2013.

The concept of immunoaggregation was introduced to high school student when they visited PI Cheng’s lab in Fall 2013 via UA’s open house.

The biomarker sensing concept, and preliminary testing results were included in PI Zhe’s existing MEMS courses “Fundamentals of MEMS” and “Design of MEMS and Nano Devices”.  In the lab session of both classes, students were asked to get into PI’s MEMS Lab, and inspect the device under the microscopes. The graduate student, Yu Han, showed detection of micro particles using the device to the classes.

Three undergraduate students have been trained and participated in the related research in Year 3.
