Be a Mover and a Shaker

Shake Break (previously called "Fit for Life") is a free prototype app to keep you motivated and moving! It was Mezcode's entry into the Snaptic Move Your App Android Developer Challenge.

Here are the main features:

  1. The exercise tip of the day.

  2. A cloud based Exercise Journal to track workouts and review results on a chart.

  3. The Shake Breaks Schedule which reminds you to take a break and move around. The app uses the on-board accelerometer to track how much you and the phone shake during the break.

A team in China took it over and translated it into simplified Chinese. It is available for free on the Google Play Market.

Graphs

Now that you have recorded some shake breaks and stored your workouts in the Journal, it's time to have a look at the results. The Shake Break app has two types of graphs: the line and the bar chart. Here are sample graphs showing the number of minutes spent on workouts over time, and a Shake Break graph of the number of seconds spent moving the phone over time. The color changes in the Shake Break graph are changes in the day of the break.

When viewing a graph, pressing the menu button allows you to switch from workout distance, to workout minutes, to Shake Break seconds. Choose the range to display and the type.
