We have two types of Braille devices in our library:
Braille displays - Devices that can connect to computers and/or smartphones. The devices take the information that appears on the computer/phone's screen and displays it as refreshable Braille. The devices may also be used to control the computer/phone's applications.
Braille notetaker - Braille notetakers function like portable computers. Some devices allow the user to type using a Braille keyboard, while others use a standard QWERTY keyboard. The device may be used to type notes, browse the internet, and send and receive email. Some devices may also act as GPS devices, play music files, or play audiobooks. The device may display information on a refreshable Braille display or speak it out loud using text-to-speech software.
