Spelling Sheet/Blends
Shifting from ICT to DT use.
There are many ways to use this spelling mat.
If students are simply being given a word and they have to program their BeeBot to drive to each letter and pause - this would be an example of ICT use.
To step this up to a more DT use, a student may for example take a word and create the code for it. This code is then given to another student who has to then work out what the word is.
Differentiation occurs when the student for instance determines the most efficient pathway and/or includes their own letter combinations from the lists on the side of the mat.
These sheets has been printed on Tyvec which is a very strong tear and water resistant material. Printed just with white background I can supply these for $20 each plus postage or with full colour background for $50 each plus postage.
It has a 150mm grid 7 wide by 5 down.
There are some suggested initial and final blends, digraphs and other letter combinations at the side.
There are numerous blank cells left where these common letter combinations can be written onto contact and stuck onto the blank squares. This saves BeeBot steps and assists students to practice with these letter combinations.
Use for spelling consolidation.
