Personal Health class is an introduction to Health Literacy that focuses on decisions and behaviors that affect a person’s health and wellness. Application of Health Literacy will focus on individual health choices. Topics include: Health Skills, Personal Care, Physical Activity for Life, Nutrition and Body Composition, Mental and Emotional Health, Human Growth and Development, Disease Prevention, Safe and Healthy Relationships, and Drug and Alcohol prevention. Additional topics possibly covered include environmental health, public health issues, safety standards, health consumerism, and health related occupations.  As this is a general health class, this course is recommended for all students in all grades.

PERFORMANCE HEALTH and WELLNESS-

If you are looking to gain an edge in life, athletics, and your personal health, this is the class for you. Take advantage of this unique health course offering to take your health to the next level.  Performance health class is a course offering geared toward the serious athlete, the student who is highly interested in health and wellness concepts, or the student who is highly motivated to become a healthier version of themselves and take charge of their well-being.  This course will cover topics related to wellness, mental health, physical health, leadership, decision making, goal setting, life-skills, motivation, growth mindset, and self-care skills.  

Take your health and athletics to the next level with performance health class!  Although offered for grades 9-12, the course is recommended for upperclassmen.
