This Silent Auction is being held from March 9 to 19 as a fundraiser for the MiraCosta Theatre Spotlight Circle.

The Spotlight Circle (formerly known as the MiraCosta College Theatre Arts Foundation) is a part of the MiraCosta College Foundation, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization.
All proceeds from this fundraiser will be used by the Spotlight Circle to support the MiraCosta College Theatre Program and its students in many different ways. Over the years, the Spotlight Circle has purchased extra equipment and supplies, and has also provided support services and volunteer manpower to enhance the quality of the theatre's productions.
But most of the money raised each year goes to fund our Merit Awards, given out twice a year to deserving and dedicated drama students. Actors and backstage crew must spend many hours to rehearse and perform a show. Add this to a student's normal workload from academic classes and you can see that it can be very difficult to keep any sort of a steady job to provide the students' income. These monetary Merit Awards help to take some of the financial pressure off of these drama students. Sometimes the awards make the difference between a student being able to afford to work on a show or not participate at all. The Spotlight Circle is pleased and proud to be able to reward these students for making the commitment and putting in the extra effort required to excel in their education in the performing arts, which helps them to develop their creativity, teamwork, individual expression, and self-confidence -- all very important skills for success.
Your support of this Silent Auction will help the Spotlight Circle continue its work in support of its stated mission: "…to create awareness, stimulate community involvement, and raise funds in support of the MiraCosta College Theatre Program."

There are multiple levels of support, from "Supporting Role" to "Executive Producer" with various benefits added in as your donation increases.
