4) FUTURE EDUCATIONAL AND CAREER GOALS

As of now, my main goal is to transfer to a four year university. I am looking at Cal State Fullerton, Cal State Chico, Southern Utah University, and the University of Arizona. I hope to complete my major in Theatre Arts and then move on to graduate school. After graduation, I plan to apply to work onboard a cruise ship as an entertainer to save some money and see how I enjoy traveling as an actor as a lifestyle. Then, I would audition for stage and film work first in the Los Angeles area, and possibly later in New York. If I do not find my niche in acting, I would like to become either a theatre arts instructor or an acting coach.

5) WHY YOU FEEL YOU ARE DESERVING OF RECEIVING A MERIT AWARD

I feel that I am a worthy candidate for this scholarship because I am such an active student within the department. In addition to my ambitious classload in the Theatre Program and the productions that I have participated in, both onstage and backstage, I am also the vice president of our drama club, the Backstage Players. I see more of the theatre than I do of my house! If I am not in rehearsal, I try to spend my free time helping with costumes or makeup. I feel that I have contributed, and will continue to contribute, my knowledge, skills, blood, sweat, and tears to the MiraCosta Theatre. Thank you for considering me for a Spotlight Circle Merit Award.
