This is a script for Daz Studio 4.5 or greater
there will also be a version for DS 1, 2 and 3
Recently i posted a 4K x 4K transparency map which can be applied to the (free) mcjA3Maillot
the guidelines for this cutout were generated using mcjTailorsChalk
January 24th 2021 - made the correct zip file accessible
August 15th 2017 9:16PM - fixed issue with Genesis3 and up which has faceGroup names that dont match the bone names, including upper/lower case issues
April 11th 2017 8:00am - some facegroups ( head ) are not named like the corresponding node.name but like the node.getLabel
April 11th 2017 6:30am - used the modulo function for UV coordinates not in the usual [0..1] range ( ex: Aiko7 )
July 23 2014 4am Released version for DS 4.5+
The zip package is found at the bottom of this page
unzip it in your daz content folder, typically
C:\Program Files\DAZ\Studio\content\
or
C:\Program Files (x86)\DAZ\Studio\content\
once installed, it will appear in your content library, under Studio / Scripts / mcasual
or
C:\Users\Public\Documents\My DAZ 3D Library\
once installed, it will appear in your content library, under My DAZ 3D Library / Scripts / mcasual
place one or many spheres and planes across your target figure, for example a swimsuit and 1 sphere
Important Rules :
the plane names (labels) must contain the word "plane", example : plane (2)
the sphere names (labels) must contain the word "sphere", example : sphere (4)
the target objects must NOT contain the words sphere or plane, else they will be treated as chalk line objects
You can select a whole figure or you can select individual limbs, and you can select objects
if a whole figure is selected, then you must not add other objects or limbs to your selection
to reduce the processing load, you can go in Daz Studio's Surfaces tab and select only the surfaces that are needed
then check-mark mcjTailorsChalk's "only selected materials" check box
Select an image size, ex: 1024 x 1024
select your target ( ex: swimsuit ) and the outline objects ( ex: a sphere )
note that you add items to a selection using the shift key
it's better to do this in Daz Studio's scene tab, to avoid selecting a full figure when you only want to select a limb
click on the "do it" button"
specify the name and location where the chalk-lines image will be saved
a few seconds later you get an image with the very useful chalk lines !
for example the swimsuit at the top of the page used one sphere and generated this outline
i used a paint program to obtain this opacity map
which was applied to the opacity channel of the swimsuit surface
