The Universe of Maurice Douard
There is an universe.
There is ‘He’ in his paintings, those paintings which provoke a suspension of our daily life, that long life which combines pain, suffering, joy and troubles.
The energy gushes out of the universe, condensing to it’s essence, in a smaller universe, the universe of ‘Him’, twinkling in a vivid colour within the cosmos.
The atoms, of which this artist is constituted, will return one day there where they were stemmed. Because of energy transfer there is a continuous interaction between these two universes.
While observing his paintings, we think seeing a movement, but, as a matter of fact, everything is motionless, a misleading motionlessness representing the immediacy of life.
The artwork catches this immediateness while observing our daily life by the prism of its vision.
The incomprehensive paradox of our existence , the doubts, the anxiety of waiting…, all this arise by those elementary particles in the hope of an answer, we dress them with colours, we undress them and we redress…, the hours passes by and those comings and goings help to support the pain. No answer, only a cry of ‘Him’, who is repeating himself ad infinitum through his art.
That is why, today, the artist’s out coming is: Tolerance, love, and than laughing. That is the concept of his art, his deliverance.
The moment I saw his paintings, I was stunned by the enormous sound of its intensive light, I was delighted by the titles of his paintings who overflow by humour, and than, I saw ‘Him’.
(Well, that is it, the liaison of those small things of daily life, our life!)
Than, finally my heart opened up and was swept over by the wave of emotion.
The beautiful face of the artist furrowed with melancholia, passion and the purity. His noble personality tinted with inspiration. His laugh, so thundering, that it just put down all lies.
What can life be beautiful in company with this kind of artiste!
