Real Marketing: Posters

Please read all instructions (twice if you need to) before trying to begin. It will save you a lot of time and difficulty later. We only have two days to do this in.

The majority of students indicated we should make posters. The content will be similar to the flyers we made earlier this week. We will actually put these up around the school, so do your best!

Important: since this will be given out to members of the community, it is extremely important that we respect copyright law.

Each group will need to design and make one poster.

Primary target market:

2nd & 3rd: teachers

4th & 5th: businesses

6th & 7th: students

Based on your input, the poster must have the following items:

1. The event name (Lady Vikes Softball Fundraiser Golf Tournament)

2. The date of the event

3. A description of the event

4. A slogan trying to convince people to come (ex: "come support the softball team with a day of fun competition" or "everyone's invited..."). We need to really give them a reason to come!

5. Where to sign up ("See Coach Morrison") include his e-mail: Jumorrison@irvingisd.net

6. Pictures, graphics and/or effects - enough to reasonably cover the poster and make it look good

4th and 5th periods must include information about sponsoring a hole

You have the option of doing this electronically (Open Office Writer, Draw, etc.) or free-hand.

Grading as follows:

Each item 1-5 = 10 points. Item 6 (overall appeal of the poster) will be worth 50 points.
