Advertise Yourself!

Instructions: Use open office Writer to create a flyer for yourself. Be sure it meets the requirements below.

To open writer – click on “Start” -> “All Programs” -> “OpenOffice.org 3.2” -> “OpenOffice.org Writer”

Objective: to tell a little bit about yourself and “advertise” yourself by creating a flyer in Open Office Writer

Due Date: Tuesday, September 13, 2011 by the end of school

Requirements/Grading Rubric:

· Must have a bullet-pointed list of your skills/strengths/talents -10 points

· Must be free of spelling errors (hint: run spell-check) – 10 points

· Must have a paragraph (4-5 sentences) describing you – 20 points

· Must have at least one larger picture of yourself (or of something else that represents you) – 10 points

· Must have at least three smaller graphics/images/pictures of things that you like or are interested in – 20 points

· Must have another bullet-pointed list of your goals and/or things you want out of life – 10 points

· Must be no more than one page (this may be a challenge) – 10 points

· Must be e-mailed as an attached file to Mr. Owens at mrowensbusiness@yahoo.com

o Must have “Your Name – Your Period – Advertisement” as a subject – 10 points

Note: You may use comical pictures/images or pictures of friends, but they must be school-appropriate.
