Dr Mazrura Sahani is an Environmental and Occupational Health Physician. She is currently the Chairperson, Centre of Health and Applied Sciences, Faculty of Health Sciences at the National University of Malaysia (UKM), Malaysia. She is the Founding President of Malaysian Society of Environmental Epidemiology (MySEE), established since 2011. Dr Mazrura’s research area is Environmental and Occupational Epidemiology. Her research interest covers the health impact of air pollution focusing on the transboundary Southeast Asia forest fires smoke (haze), the emerging infectious diseases and the impact of the environmental and climate changes to the health of community. She was in the National outbreak investigation teams during Nipah virus and Epstein Barr virus outbreaks. She leads a shared vision in developing leadership in addressing the challenges in environmental and occupational health at the local, national and regional level. She remains active in facilitating teaching, research and community driven activities for healthy and sustainable future.
