Appling information technology in healthcare has a great potential to improve health outcomes and health system efficiency. Providing high-quality, affordable and universally accessible care is a challenge for healthcare systems, especially those serve areas with limited resources. In this talk, Dr. Raymond Kuo will introduce how telemedicine, telecare, remote patient monitoring, and other innovative applications of health information technology draw the future solution for delivering healthcare and improve health in limited-resource areas. He is going to share some success cases of applying health information technology in remote or rural areas in Taiwan.
