Day 2: Sunday - More on Portland Zoo
We decided to go on the train ride thinking that it will show us the different attractions around the zoo. Turns out the conductor had a different itinerary than what we had expected :) Nevertheless, we had a nice time. Since the wait was also longer than expected, we had plenty of time to take pictures while waiting. Here are some of those pictures.
Nice happy picture here.
Very nice picture of Joel and Charissa.
Another nice happy picture with Charissa, Papa and Mom.
After we got in the train, we took some more pictures. Here is Joel and Charissa :)
Charissa took this one of me and Joel.
After the train ride. We walked around the zoo to see more attractions. What we really wanted to see was the Winged Wonders, where they housed hundreds of butterflies! Unfortunately, when we got there my camera battery died and I was only able to take a couple of pictures. Fortunately, Joel's cell phone had a camera and was able to take some pictures also. Below are two of the nicer pictures we were able to take.
I kept staring at the butterfly above since the wings literally looked like a painting! You can't quite see that in this picture, but in real life it was just amazing.
Here's a really friendly Mandrill (a type of baboon). He was just looking at us for a long time, then suddenly turned around when he was done with us :)
Peacock giving us a nice show. You can see me and mom on the left side. She just kept walking around and showing us her nice display of feathers, which were so intricately held together. This peacock reminded me of how God is just an amazing creator and designer.
