Floral Breeze (9"x12")
(November 30, 2006) I was initially inspired to paint this painting after seeing a pattern on a bus billboard. Over time this painting diverged from the initial inspiration. Many times I did not know what to do next. However, I love the end result with the Van Gogh type effect of the "dash" type breeze. I really like it now that it is done :)
Flower Garden 4 (9"x12")
(August 2006) This painting was a lot of fun to paint. This is similar to Flower Garden 2, but with bigger flowers and leaves. Also, similar to Flower Garden 3 it has a bright solid background. The big difference is that this has gold on the edge of the flowers and leaves and also on the background. The gold added a festive touch, it made me think of Christmas.
Flower Garden 3 (9"x12")
(August 2006) Similar to the earlier Flower Garden paintings, this painting has bright randomly placed flowers on the page fairly close together with surrounding leaves. However, this time it has a bright solid background.
Flower Garden 2 (9"x12")
(August 2006) Inspired by Flower Garden 1, using a similar technique of having the flowers and leaves be separated by white as a form of border. The flowers are bigger and the flowers are more yellow on yellow, red on red, etc. It was a lot of fun painting this as well.
Flower Pattern 2 (9" x 12")
(August 3, 2006) A very different type of flower pattern with different shades of earth colors for the background and very bright flower colors.
Flower Garden 1 (9" x 12")
(August 3, 2006) Painting this took about a couple of days. It was very easy and fun to paint this. I was listening to U2 when I painted this. Not sure if that helped make it easier to paint :) I plan to paint more of this kind of flower pattern in the future.
Satin Checker (9" x 12")
(April 13, 2006) This is a painting that builds on Rainbow Quilt below. Where there were plain areas, I painted an opposite image of the triangle next to it. It makes it look like a satin checker sheet to me. I just love the effect. I hope you like it too :).
Rainbow Quilt (9" x 12")
(April 12, 2006) Here I was overlaying basic colors on top of each other and then added another layer of the same color on top of it, making it a darker shade. It was fun painting this not knowing how it will turn out. I love painting patterns.
Flower Portals (9" x 12")
(March 10, 2006) I called this flower portals, since you can see some cute images in the middle of the flowers, which serve as some kind of a portal. It started out mostly pastel but got more intense as I applied more colors. I did a lot of experimenting with the paint when I did this painting.
Purple Hearts (9" x 12")
(March 3, 2006) In this painting I tried using darker and darker layers of the same color since I liked its effect when I tried it. I also like how it has the light blue lace-like pattern behind the main pattern. Can you see the purple hearts? How about the blue ones?
Stained Glass (9" x 12")
(Q1 - 2006) It was hard to come up with a name for this one. I love how the different colors and shapes allow for many different ways of viewing this painting almost like a kaleidoscope.
Boxes in Waves (9" x 12")
I just love patterns. This combines boxes that form waves of different colors.
Colorful Envelopes (9" x 12")
You might not be able to tell but these are a bunch of small envelopes of different colors next to each other. This is one of my first pattern paintings. I enjoyed painting this a lot.
Diamonds (9" x 12")
I started playing around with different dimensions here. This painting makes it look like you may be peeking through to see another painting in the back. I like this kind of special effect in paintings.
Sunflowers (9" x 12")
Can you see the sunflowers behind the boxes?
Flower Pattern (9" x 12")
I enjoyed painting this flower pattern. It looks like some kind of fabric design.
