Two Beaches (9" x 12 ")
(July 22, 2006) Here I was trying to show two different sceneries at the same time. One scenery is a bright beach with overhanging palm branches; whereas, the other is a night scene with a lighthouse. Which one would you rather see? Here I wanted people to think about what they are looking at.
An earlier Diamonds painting inspired me to do this.
Leaves (10.5" x 11")
(May 11, 2006) I was playing around with different darker colors here and experimenting with mixing them wet. I was also listening to U2 while painting this, which helped it to be more fluid in style, as opposed to being on the rigid side.
Pink Ballerina
(May 5, 2006) I was inspired to paint another ballerina. This one has some movement effects suggesting her possible backward bending motion. I also like the soft silky background around her.
Satin Checker (9" x 12")
(April 13, 2006) This is a painting that builds on Rainbow Quilt below. Where there were plain areas, I painted an opposite image of the triangle next to it. It makes it look like a satin checker sheet to me. I just love the effect. I hope you like it too :).
Rainbow Quilt (9" x 12")
(April 12, 2006) Here I was overlaying basic colors on top of each other and then added another layer of the same color on top of it, making it a darker shade. It was fun painting this not knowing how it will turn out. I love painting patterns.
Floral Gathering (9" x 12")
(March 29, 2006) Here I was trying to come up with different types of flowers with vibrant colors and with different styles and I tried to tie them together with a light green leaf pattern background.
This is a happy flower painting that should cheer anyone up.
Candycane Dahlia (9" x 12")
(March 20, 2006) I liked how symmetrical the colors and patterns are of this beautiful flower. I thought it would be a nice application of applying multiple darkening layers. I hope you like it :)
Curly Feather (9" x 12")
(March 16, 2006) I was listening to the Sound of Music when I painted this. I felt like painting something curly, colorful and happy. Hope you like this
Flower Portals (9" x 12")
(March 10, 2006) I called this flower portals, since you can see some cute images in the middle of the flowers, which serve as some kind of a portal. It started out mostly pastel but got more intense as I applied more colors. I did a lot of experimenting with the paint when I did this painting.
Purple Hearts (9" x 12")
(March 3, 2006) In this painting I tried using darker and darker layers of the same color since I liked its effect when I tried it. I also like how it has the light blue lace-like pattern behind the main pattern. Can you see the purple hearts? How about the blue ones?
Stained Glass (9" x 12")
(Q1 - 2006) It was hard to come up with a name for this one. I love how the different colors and shapes allow for many different ways of viewing this painting almost like a kaleidoscope.
